Folly Beach Rules:
1. Alcohol is allowed on Folly Island’s beaches, but there are some rules that
apply to all containers. No glass bottles or cans are allowed. Plastic bottles,
plastic cups and paper cups are allowed. If you bring a cooler that contains
glass containers or cans, you may pour your drinks into a plastic cup and
then immediately return the containers to your cooler. If you want to have
an alcoholic drink on the Folly Beach Fishing pier, you must purchase it
from the restaurant located near the entrance to the pier.
2. Campfires and grills are not allowed on the beaches.
3. Fireworks are prohibited.
4. Bicycles and Skateboards are not allowed on sidewalks.
5. Anyone who fishes, ocean or river, from a boat, must have a saltwater
fishing license. The only exception is fishing from the Folly Beach Pier
where you can buy a license to fish only on the pier. Most fishing charter
captains supply bait and licenses.

Important!   When you're in the water, stay away from the Pier. You don't want to be "hooked" by one of the
Pier fisherman! And often, there are some severe undertows around the Pier.

Be careful of dead jellyfish that wash ashore - they can still sting!

The only proven effective first aid treatment for the skin pain of jellyfish stings is the use of cold packs or
ice. Apply cold to the stung area for 5-15 minutes then re-apply, if necessary. It will stop the skin pain in
98% of cases.
